With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.

nice finishing touch
This is a very nice shower drain. If you took the time and effort to put in a nice custom shower, this is a nice finishing touch. The compression fitting is a bit challenging to use. I suggest you put the down pipe in prior to installing this drain. You will need a hard surface and a 2 ich coupler to press the pipe into the fitting. A lot of elbow grease and effort will be required. But it will seal in there very nicely. The look and quality of this drain are well worth the effort to install it. There is not much else out there that even compares to this. It is not cheap, but if you are looking at it you dont want cheap. I used plumbers putty on the mating surface of the shower floor. This does make tightening down the drain a bit more difficult. But it adds to the water tight seal.

great shower drain
This is an absolutely beautiful, durable shower drain. It is nothing like the cheap PVC shower drains at the big box stores. If you have a nice custom marble shower, this is the perfect finishing touch.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 is because of the fernco rubber bushing.
If this is a DIY project, be fore warned installing the 2 inch PVC pipe into the fernco rubber bushing is not for the faint of heart.
Here's the How to:
measure for the length of your down pipe, from the top edge of the fully seated bushing to the bottom seat of the 2 inch 45 it will be glued to.
The drain will have to be set in place but not tightened down for this measurement.
Next remove the drain, and make sure the Fernco bushing is fully seated
wet the bushing
sand or smoothe the outer edge of the 2 inch PVC pipe to go into the bushing.
Wet the pipe.
place the pipe up to the bottom edge of the Fernco bushing through the bottom of the Koler...

Good product, but not made by Kohler and very difficult to install if you are not a plumber. Took my husband and myself to install the drain. It required someone from the top and another person pushing the drain pipe from under the fixture.
