Unit works fine
I beg to differ with the previous review. My old Moen valve had copper connectors and I have PEX lines feeding my Roman tub. Even the Larry, Curly, and Moe plumbers hired by my ultra-cheap home builder were able to tie the PEX to Copper feeder tubes which were then screwed into the copper valve connectors. While you did order the wrong part, the barely competent plumbers who rigged my original setup had a leak free job for 8 years.
Now on to the 4993. I ordered a unit to swap with my plumber who had one on the truck. Since I could use the direct PEX connections, my plumber knocked off .5 hour labor when he found out he wouldn't need to solder back in that tight area. It's day 1, but no leaks and a fast clean job. I must add that working with a plumber with a strong command of the English language was also a pleasure.
The only knock I have on Moen for not having this product 10 years ago. I could have changed the faucet out myself if the new hardware was...

This valve works as it should!
I installed this myself on a tub remodel. Only problem I had was I wanted to crimp pex from the control valves to the faucet valve. There is not enough room to get the pex tool on the control valves to squeze the crimp so I just used the factory hose. No leaks so it works.
Beware of water line attachment
This connecting valve is intended to attach to plastic water lines and does not come with any kind of an adapter for either plastic or copper water lines. You don't know it until you purchase it and see there are none included and the manual tells you they aren't. Finding them was impossible for us and our plumber so we had to return this and buy a whole new valve attachment kit that had copper fittings.
