I have purchased grab bars for the shower before. I ordinarily replace them every year or two ~ no matter how much you clean them, mold does form and the grip does weaken. this one has the strongest grip yet and I love the buttons which tell you when to refasten. Nothing is going to support the weight of a grown adult like a grab bar that's been secured/screwed into a wall stud, but this isn't a bad option.
